Social Issues We Work On

Young people gathering downtown at night

Recently, there has been a phenomenon of young people gathering downtown at night, and what used to be a gathering place for parties who resonated through social networking has become a dangerous place to get involved in illegal drug trafficking, prostitution, and other dangerous things through the intervention of malicious adults.

Suffering from “social isolation”

The common denominator among young people called “hikikomori” or “NEET” is a lack of social connections. He or she wants to do something about it, but does not know what to do. They are rejected by society. Such issues prevent young people from participating in society.

Create a “place” where people can feel safe and secure

We have been actively engaged in open “placemaking” activities.

Youth Center at night

A free space open once a week on Saturday nights. You can eat lunch as you wish, and there are plenty of tools to engage with others, such as games and musical instruments.

More than 1,000 people use the program annually, and it has become a model case that not only young people but also supporters and local government officials from all over Japan visit to observe the program.

Creating Opportunities Utilizing Sports

” If it’s something I like, maybe I can do it.”

Flat relationship, everyone is welcome to join.

Communication through sports allows people to relate to each other regardless of age, gender, social status or position.

Normal support programs create a relationship between supporters and users, but with sports, there is no hierarchy and you can talk as equals.

have things to do and I’m in no hurry.

Some people say, ” It’s good to go, but it’s hard because there’s nothing to do. ”

In sports, you don’t have to worry about that.

It takes courage to suddenly join an existing community, but since it’s a sport, the barriers are reduced.

Using soccer to build community

How we use the donations we receive
